3 cheers for me!
I am officially done with drawing class. *I* survived drawing class and you know what else, I kind of liked it! I’m not fab or anything but much better. I really thought I could not draw a stick figure before the class. I am still struggling with perspective drawings but I know I’ll get there. (my U is sticking on the keyboard. geesh) So I don’t know the final grade but I’ll let you know. Today I start Color Theory… fun!
One other thing to share… this

I love to go off to the movies alone and I treated myself to Into the Wild this weekend. Beautiful film! I’m totally in love with it and I hope to watch it again. I should have guessed it was a Sean Penn movie, it has that wonderful artistic glory to it that he has developed over the years. oooh ya know what, I really don’t recommend watching the trailers to the movie on the website because they just give to much away. I like to be surprised. I purposely didn’t know much about the film. And I should warn, there is some nudity but it’s totally not sexual and gross at all. It’s about being natural and funny in other case. But use your discretion. This movie just jived with where I am at in my thoughts lately about enjoying the simple life. I get so mad at myself for being caught up in materialistic stuff. It’s just more to clean! I love to shop like most girls but it’s just “things”. We are struggling right now and I have told myself that “it’s just things” every day for the last two weeks. Let it go. We’re healthy, we still have food on the table, and a roof over our head. The rest are just things.

green week
It’s green week on NBC. I don’t usually watch tv in the daytime… well until Rachael Ray comes on and I watch the last 20 minutes for the cooking segment. Anywho… I made a point of watching some of the daytime shows this morning for the interesting green information. You might want to check it out.
I’m more intrigued by the week with the green movement. And this weekend I was still dragging since I’ve had strep throat this week and I started catching up on some podcasts of the Mars Hill sermon series I’d missed on itunes. The series was called God is Green and it talked about how we need to care for the earth because God loves the earth…God takes pleasure in his creation.
Sooooo here’s the thing, in January of this year I told my husband that I’m surprised the big chain supermarkets aren’t offering market bag programs. Well well, this summer I read that Kroger was launching one! Then Sunday I had to run to the store and the lady in front of me whipped out a blue Kroger market bag! I didn’t see any to purchase. BUT tonight I had to run to Walmart for some craft supplies for tomorrows Girl Scouts meeting and I was really delighted when I got to check out and saw Walmart was selling some for only $1 each. I picked up a couple and will get more. They held more than I thought they would! I tried to find a photo online to show ya but no luck. I did find this little news blip about them.
“Wal-Mart also began selling reusable bags for $1 each. The bags are made from recycled plastic from about four soda bottles. The company forecasts that each bag will eliminate the need for at least 50 disposable bags over its five-year lifetime.”
And yes, I’m aware of several reasons why people are boycotting Walmart. I do shop Kmart more as I have desires to support Sears for the awesome things they do on Extreme Home Makeover. But I also have friends who work at Walmart and I believe we’d also put people out of jobs by boycotting Walmart. So that’s that.
I’m still interested in finding a great insulated market bag for frozen groceries. That’s one of just two things I want for Christmas this year. The other being this baby:

My confession is that I made the worlds worst cup of coffee! BLECH And yes I’ve tried all sorts of different things to fix this, people have shown me how, I’ve used different water… it’s pathetic! And it sends me to the coffee shop which isn’t all that great in this town and I spend more than I care to on coffee. This has gotten thumbs up from friends and the whole concept appeals to me right down to making just a single up at a time!

I’m excited to announce that I’ve joined Miriam Lima’s creative team! We’re having lots of fun becoming friends. Not only is she an awesome designer but she is an amazing photographer. Check out her blog. And have a lookie look at her store at Sweet Shoppe Designs.
Ok, I gotta brag, I got to work with one of her new kits, Lovely. And look at the mini album I got to create!

You just pop your photos in, add any journaling you want, and print! This is perfect for a 5 inch round chipboard album, just stick it on. Easy peasy!
More soon! I’m bursting with stuff to blog about lately!
