Mothers = a card catalog of information?!
This blog is turning into everything about Kate! But she cracks me up. I’ve mentioned how funny she is, right? right.
Yesterday driving in the car she asked me what she had told me about one of the girls in her class. I made a few guesses but darn it I was wrong. She was so disappointed in me. Told me,
“You should save this stuff in your brain.”
So I came back with, “Well, what is it you told me?”
She did not know. But I’m the mom, I should know everything. of course.

because I can make anything…
Sometimes the random words spoken in our house make me laugh. Yesterday I sat filing papers when Kate ran in and shouted,
“Mom, you should learn to make a souffle!”
???
why not.
I suppose I will.
I often wish I wrote down the off the beaten path things that are overheard in our house. Some pretty hilarious things come up. But I fear I’ve become immune to much of it as we grow. For example, when 4 year old passes me by and says “hi mom” while wearing an eye patch over her left eye in the morning, I don’t even blink. “Hello small one” I say back and I go along my merry way. And when said child wears the eye patch all the way to church, greets everyone, and casually walks into class… we just smile. She’s made our morning more fun.
*** Next topic: The very forgettable me***
When I am overwhelmed, I do lame things. Or maybe I’m just tired and should go to sleep at a normal hour. I dunno but I get seriously sidetracked. Here’s an example:
I’m once again filing papers (there are a ton) and I get it in my head that I could use a piece of gum. I stand up from the dining room table and take oooohhhhh… about 8 steps into the kitchen. I then get myself a glass of water, drink up, and walk out of the kitchen. I stop at the doorway. WAIT… didn’t I come in here for something? Hmmm what could that have been? Stand for a minute and think. Return to my chair. Oh yes. gum.
You know what they say, one who can laugh at oneself will never stop laughing!
*** feeling lame ***
Gotta get some bad friend guilt off my chest. Feb. 6th is my good friend Tricia’s birthday! Tricia, I thought of you ALL day long. Even at 1 am the next morning I thought while doing dishes to at least send an ecard. But alas, I got done with the dishes and lost my mind. The very first thought when I woke up was shit, I forgot to send that card!
So this is me admitting to everyone that I am a lame friend! I love you so much. We must get together SOON. I still have this Christmas gift. LOL
Everyone please say outloud Happy Birthday Tricia!!!

sunday
Today wore me out. Ridiculous really. Just running errands with my little punks who were very well behaved so I can’t blame my exhaustion on them. But they are three unique individuals going into three opposite directions. Eric and I like to say “it’s like herding cats”. LOL The funniest thing to me about taking my kids to the store is the number of times I save them from smashing into a cart. What is up with that? I’m forever yanking someone by the shirt. Or walking out of church today in the parking lot and using my arm to block 4 year old from traffic. She is in her own glorious bubble!
Sooo… we looked for things on our shopping list and couldn’t find them. Went to Target. If I’m in a town with a Target, who am I to not go?! But didn’t find what I wanted there either. Headed to Oberweis to pick up milk… growth hormone free and it’s also a great dessert place. Got the kids their first taste of Oberweis ice cream and they’re now hooked and asking when we’ll go back.
The Superbowl is on. The game must have gotten exciting here in the end because Isaac has put his gameboy down to watch more intensively. I stopped briefly to watch Tom Petty at halftime and then looked back down to my laptop to google “Tom Petty age”. LOL I’ve noticed now that I’m 30 I am constantly looking up celebrities from back in the day when I see their appearance on tv or the news and I’m saying “they look old!” Gee how did that happen? Cuz you know, I certainly haven’t aged!
Is there anyone out that I haven’t shared the news with that NKOTB are making a comeback according to People? Hmmm… I can’t help but be intrigued. Tom Petty is 57 by the way.
My whole point to blogging was to share some photos of our sledding adventures yesterday. Sorry, no pictures of me but yes I participate after I snap photos and videos. I dropped both cameras in the snow! I kid you not! What a dork. I DO blame that on the kids. So most of my photos have this funky blue glow in the middle where I couldn’t get the lens nicely cleaned up. C’est la vive
This sweet little sled Kate is on was made when Isaac was a wee little tot by great grandpa Beschinski. It looks like this will be the last year for it. We had forgotten it in our closet and came across it moving around Christmas storage. I’m so thankful because now all three of my kids have used it. I’m not one to save things. I lack sentimental values and all. But THIS I will do my best to care for and save for my grandchildren to use… along with the beautiful rocking horse my sister gave Isaac for his first birthday and all three kids used (and Kate pulled all the yarn hair out of but that can be fixed, I mention it here on my blog to record the history and prove she is “the destroyer”.)
And Jen… that’s not a sled under Aleah you may be thinking. That was Eric’s creative thinking. That would be the plastic sheeting ya put under laminate flooring. It’s really slippery on the one side and PERFECT for sledding mats. Just a little tip.
ok, my phone is ringing. I’m out.

Valentine’s Day is coming! :)
I don’t know what it is about Valentine’s that makes me all giddy. Maybe it’s all the red and pink which are my favorite colors. And then hearts! ahhhh I just love it.
So of course I could not resist buying these to loves notes in my kids lunches when they take. These are from the delightfully crafty Summer Simmons store, Sugar Giggles.
Check out my girl Miriam’s new kit, Crush. LOOOOVE the wispy cloud paper! Pick it up at Little Dreamer Designs.
and I’ve already picked up Dani’s Valentine kit. Loved last years Crazy Love too. And this year she put out Love Struck.
Still on my wishlist are these amazing works of ar:
So yeah… I can’t wait for V-DAY. This year we’ll be decorating heart cookies with girl scouts. I love to do this! And the kids and I will do a cake and I’ll give them a couple gifts. Oooh I almost forgot, I’m going to attempt homemade marshmallows for Kate! Can’t wait!
Check out Miriam’s blog. She’s been doing talkies! And <blush> she mentions my little blog here. awe.. sweet. But go there and she gives out some info about Pink Week coming up . Miriam’s favorite color and mine, no wonder we get along so well. LOL Miriam and the team will be holding challenges and giving out prizes. It’s gonna be some fun.
In music news, I thought I’d also share Jason Mraz with you. I’ve been listening to a lot of his music lately. Ok, I have been for a couple of years. This is a fun one and I listen to this one every single day over and over. It’s a long video since he gets silly during it but listen to the first minute at least!
We went sledding today so I’ll be back later today or tomorrow with some pics.
